What you see - If you’re pulled out of bed early in the morning and life takes you near Habitat World in Delhi then we’d suggest that you visit the All American Diner here. The diner is one of its kind in Delhi and is set inside the India Habitat Center. This restaurant, somehow reminds you of Pop Tate's Chocolate Shop from Archies comics. The black and white tiled floor and the red leather sofas with the hanging lights give the place a casual look. Posters of Harley Davidson etc, reflective of American culture complete the look. You can grab a sofa seat if available or make yourself comfortable on the bar stool here. There is a live jukebox also that plays good music.

What you get – We visited it on a Sunday and the restaurant was packed with families. In spite of the crowd, the service seemed efficient. As soon as we settled in, a uniformed waiter appeared with two menu cards, one for food and the other for beverages.

The menu has a good choice of fresh baked breads, fresh fruit juices, preserved juices, muffins, cereals, toasts, waffles, pancake etc. We’d recommend the pancake combo (Rs. 185) or the Belgian waffle combo (Rs. 185), which are served along with sausages, bacon and eggs. Vegetarians can opt for baked beans on bread (Rs. 110) or Mushroom on toast (Rs. 125). Alternatively, you can opt for pasta and spaghetti combos that are served with salad and garlic bread (Rs. 245-260).

If you are in the mood for experimentation, try the Chilli Bean burger (Rs. 190). The burger patty is made of Soya bean and has a distinctive taste to it. It is served along with potato wedges and tossed salad. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Some of the other popular choices available at this diner in Delhi include steak, sandwiches and omelets.

The bar here serves a range of Indian liquor and imported liquor. If you don’t drink then you can check their beverage menu that lists out a range of tea, coffee, shakes etc. People with a sweet tooth can have a look at the dessert menu that serves mouth watering choices like apple pie, banana split, tiramisu, cheesecake etc.

Our verdict - We liked the casual atmosphere at The All American Diner in Delhi and loved the food there. The restaurant has a happy feel to it and is just the right place for people who love a leisurely Sunday breakfast or brunch. The American food is tempting and the waffles and baked breads are delicious. The portion size is good and the staff is courteous. Parking space is available.
