What you see - L’affaire at Greater Kailash is one of the oldest stores in Delhi, known for its ethnic wear. This branch is the store’s first setup in Delhi.
A liveried guard opens the heavy wooden door to let us in. There’s a warm glow in the room. The lower floor displays sarees and lehengas while the floor above stocks the salwar kameez collection.
What you get - L’affaire is famous for its beautiful and sophisticated collection of Indian clothes for women. The store maintains a good stock of sarees, stitched salwar suits, bridal lehengas, scarves and shawls.
The sarees at this store in Delhi are available in a variety of styles and designs. If you are looking for original and pure Kanjeevaram silk sarees, this store has a good collection. They have silk sarees from different parts of the country. We particularly liked a Maharashtrian silk saree in orange with colorful weaves (Rs. 62,000).
L’affaire’s bridal collection is breathtaking with its huge range of sarees and lehengas in different colors and styles. A heavy off-white lehenga with a navy blue dupatta and gota-patti work caught our attention (Rs. 1.39 lakh) while the bridal sarees with brocade work left us bedazzled.
The store also has a collection of eco-friendly sarees which make use of yarn in its pure form and vegetable dyes. Sarees with calligraphy prints, embroidered suits and Jamewar sarees are also a part of the collection here. Shawls and sarees with jaal work, butta work and bel work are worth a buy.
In terms of designer collection, L’affaire has scarves, salwar suits and wraparound ethnic lehengas or skirts. Bridal potlis are occasionally available.
Our verdict – L’affaire is among the best stores in Delhi for its ethnic collection. Its collection has grown popular with time by ensuring that the latest trends and styles are incorporated in its stock. The pricing is on the higher side though. Trial facility is available at the store and the staff is friendly. Paid parking space is available at the market.
